1999 was a very different time compared to today.

Napster was the number one place to download music and it could take hours to download one song.

You paid extra $$$ to make a long-distance phone call.

Bill Clinton and “his” blue dress made media headlines.

You used cameras that didn’t let you see the photo first before printing it.

Spongebob Squarepants premiered.

Everyone was paranoid and stocking up on non-perishable foods for Y2K.

Having the internet was a luxury and we didn’t get service until around 1997 and with that dial-up connection it seemed like, compared today, it took forever to get online and once online it was slow to load pages. Also, if Mom or Dad needed to make a phone call, you had to disconnect from the internet. More importantly, the internet had a lot less information available back then so when it came to reports and research papers, the library was the place to be if you wanted to get a good grade on school assignments.

It was my senior year and the last major writing assignment was picking a subject, writing a thesis for that subject, completing a detailed outline, writing at least 15 pages on the subject and then completing a bibliography and a footnote section at the end of the report.

When you are 17 or 18 years old, that sounds bloody exhausting!

But the subject I wanted to approach was pretty easy due to the fact that my mother became very ill (bed-ridden ill) and no medical doctor could help her. If you read my posts regularly you probably already know what happened next….

Yes, she saw a naturopathic doctor.

And, yes, (surprise, surprise!) she got the help she needed.

It was fascinating to me learning about vitamins, supplements, how the body works, the “Hallelujah Diet”….etc.

And THAT was what I wanted to write about. And surprisingly, the library had quite the selection of books that dealt with natural medicine and exposing the lies and deceit of the medical and agricultural sects.

So I wanted to include a copy of my research paper. It was a lot of work. There was no AI to write it for you back in 1999. There was no research done on the internet, but in the library using good ol’ fashioned books. There was no online dictionary or thesaurus; I used the hardback versions of those that occupied my parents’ bookshelf. Needless to say, the whole report was written in old-school style 🙂

Thesis: Eating the food of today is having a devastation effect on the health of our bodies.

Report: First Corinthians 6:19-20 states, “Do you not know your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.” Unfortunately, we consume foods that are comprised of aluminum, yeast, pesticides, bacteria, growth hormones, antibiotics and viruses. Yet in our minds we assume that our drinking water, meats, dairy products and breads will safely provide us with the nutrients we require to live a vigorous and healthy life. That shadow is the greed and ignorance of food industries and our very own Food and Drug Administration. Eating the food today is having a devastating effect on the health of our bodies.

Sugar is literally a toxin when people ingest it because it encourages many health difficulties. Sugar gives us a sweet pleasure, but asks for our lives in return. Fifty teaspoons of sure are consumed per day by the average American. Unfortunately, not much emphasis or caution is placed on sugar when compared to fat. There are thousands of products labeled, “fat free”, or “low fat” or “98% fat free”, but how many times do you see a product with the labels reading “sugar free” or “low sugar” or “98% sugar free”? Not very much. If this is stated, then the product usually contains a chemical sweetener, another health hazard. If companies diminish the fat in their products, then they will most likely replace it with large quantities of sugar to maintain a delicious flavor. But this sugar can be more hazardous to your health than fat!

Salt, fish, canned vegetables, bouillon cubes, crab meat, medicines, toothpaste, vitamins, cereals and, of course, any candy are common products that contain sugar. Sugar can be identified by the names: corn syrup, dextrose, fructose, glucose, honey, lactose, maltose, maple syrup, molasses and sucrose. Here are some examples of how much sugar infiltrates some products:

12 oz Coca-Cola or Pepsi Soda: 41 grams

10 oz McDonald’s Chocolate Shake: 38 grams

Soft drinks are beverages comprising excessive amounts of sugar and chemicals that should be avoided. In the American diet, 21% of sugar comes from soft drinks. In fact, soft drink consumption has risen 200% since 1945. The average 12 oz. soda contains 150 calories and 7 tsp of sugar. The amount of sugar in a Coca-Cola soft drink is equal to a piece of chocolate cake complete with icing!

Soft drinks have a profound effect on the body because they place the body at a high risk. Never impulse transmission will subside and interference of the body’s metabolization of iron will occur if a person consumes too much soda. If he drinks three soft drinks (about 30 tsp of sugar), his immune system will shut down completely. Soda should be avoided when a person is taking antacids because when cola and antacids are combined, constipation, calcium loss, hypertension, nausea, vomiting, headaches and kidney damage will occur. A high phosphorus rate, a very common trait in soft drinks, can cause calcium depletion and an increase in the risk of osteoporosis. Dr. Mary Ruth Swope, author of “Why I Don’t Drink Soft Drinks And Wish You Didn’t”, states:

A government warning was once issued to the manufacturer of a certain world-famous refreshing soft drink for its suspected effect on the bones of children because of the large amount of phosphoric acid in it. Pour coke over an extracted baby too or a 10-penny nail and see it dissolve in a few days!

Soft drinks also can decrease the antibacterial action of penicillin and ampicillin. Four particular chemicals in sodas that are harmful are: benzene, caramel, brominate vegetable oil and caffeine. Benzene, a flammable liquid obtained by the distillation of coal, is compounded with nitrogen to form the aniline dye in a soda. This chemical compound is hazardous because it distresses the nervous system and the cerobrospinal fluid. Benzene is also used as motor fuel and a solvent for resins! Caramel, a food coloring causes the blood to become unbalanced, thus leading to heart trouble. Brominate vegetable oil was found to be dangerous to human health because it affected vital organs of animals. However, sodas still contain this. Caffeine is a drug because it is very addictive and dangerous to your health. It can increase the risk of birth defects and reproductive problems, fibrocystic breast disease, irritability and insomnia.

Instead of adding sugar to their products, some companies will substitute sugar with artificial sweeteners. These sweeteners are just as hazardous as sugar, if not worse. Weight watchers and sugar-holics will not benefit from these because sweeteners are thought to be sugar by the body so insulin levels are still increased. Three specific artificial sweeteners are: saccharin, aspartame, and cyclamate.

Saccharin is one of the earliest artificial sweeteners in the United States and is 300-500 times sweeter than sugar. Soft drinks, toothpaste, medicines, Sweet N Low, Sugar Twin and Sprinkle Twin contain saccharin. This chemical was known to cause bladder cancer after testing had been performed on lab animals, thus the FDA proposed a bank of saccharin in the 1970’s. However many consumers, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the National Academy of Sciences and the American Diabetes Association protested. Saccharin is marketed with a label warning:

“Use of this product may be hazardous to your health. This product contains saccharin, which has been determined to cause cancer in laboratory animals.”

Aspartame is 200 times sweeter than sugar and is the chemical name for NutraSweet. It has been a substitute for saccharin in all national soft drinks except Dr. Pepper which still contains saccharin. Aspartame can be found in:

Aspartame is composed of three parts: phenylalanine (a substance that may raise blood pressure), aspartic acid and methanol (a highly toxic wood alcohol). Aspartame, in recent studies, was proved to cause an increase in appetite. This is not beneficial for people who want to lose weight. Aspartame restrains the release of glucose into the bloodstream and may cause headaches, grand-mal seizures, hives, nausea, rashes, blindness, brain damage, ear buzzing, muscle aches, eye hemorrhages, memory loss and an inflammation of the pancreas. The methanol contained in aspartame has the ability to affect fetal brain development. A higher risk of brain tumors may be associated with aspartame because of the results from a test involving rats.

Cyclamate is another artificial sweetener that is only 30 times sweeter than sugar and is the lease expensive among the three sweeteners. It can be combined with saccharin and aspartame to become more effective. However, when cyclamate is mixed with saccharin, it increases the risk of bladder cancer. Fortunately, this chemical is banned in the United States and Great Britain, but other countries still use it today even though cyclamate may cause chromosomal damage and testicular atrophy. Companies are claiming that earlier tests of cyclamate were inconclusive and are petitioning the FDA to lift the ban.

Meat is one of the four food groups that is dangerous because it is unhealthy and promotes physical complications. Dr. George H. Malkmus, author of “God’s Way To Ultimate Health”, states:

Eighteen years of research has revealed meat as it is produced today to be the single most dangerous food that we can put into our body.

Meat contains large quantities of white fat which obstructs the arteries and causes heart attacks and strokes which kill 50% of Americans. An American who eats meat will also consume 50 pounds of fat per year. Meat also causes colon cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, adult-onset diabetes, gout, arthritis and irritable bowel syndrome. A woman who eats meat on a daily basis will increase her risk of breast cancer by four times when compared to a female vegetarian. A man who eats meat on a daily bases will increase his risk of prostate cancer by 3.6 times when compared to a male vegetarian.

Why are there so many health problems associated with meat? Because of the diseases, parasites, grubs, abscesses and growth hormones that infiltrate today’s meat. Dr. Neal Barnard, president of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, states:

The beef industry has contributed to more American deaths than all the wars of this century, all natural disasters, and all automobile accidents combined.

A meat inspector only has 12 seconds to investigate for diseases and parasites in the meat because he is required to inspect 300 carcasses per hour. The industry profits greatly from the use of growth hormones because they hasten the development of the meat so more profit can come at a quicker rate. These growth hormones greatly affect young girls. The age of puberty for a girl in 1950 was sixteen or seventeen. After growth hormones were introduced into cattle during the 1950s, the age of puberty for a girl gradually, over a period of time, was reduced to ten or eleven. Some girls even start menstruating at nine, eight or even seven years old! Perhaps you will think twice the next time you have an urge to bite into a hamburger.

If people decide to eliminate beef from their diets, they will probably eat fish. However, they will still be consuming harmful chemicals that have devastating effects on the body. A test in 1983 revealed that DDT was found in 90% of fish tested even though DDT was banned in 1972. The pollution of our waters plays a major role in fish contamination. Liver damage will occur if four ounces of contaminated fish are are eating. Shellfish carry lead, cadmium and arsenic which could result in hepatitis, salmonella or cholera. Raw shellfish ingest dangerous microbes and toxins which may caused parasitic worm infections. Tuna, halibut, swordfish, shark and marlin contain methyl mercury which attacks human nerve cells. Cancer may be caused by trout, carp, catfish, bass, blue fish and mackerel because these types of fish contain high amounts of polychorinated biphenyls. Salmon, whitefish, and swordfish may contain PCBs, industrial chemicals used in electrical equipment, hydraulic fluid and carbonless carbon paper. PCBs may cause cancer and difficulties for a developing fetus.

There are two types of seafood poisoning: mytilotoxism, the result of eating shellfish contaminated with toxic microorganisms, and ciguatera poisoning, the result of eating contaminated seafood. Symptoms of mytilotoxism include paralysis, nausea and vomiting. Hospital attention should be sought immediately. Symptoms of ciguatera poisoning include nausea, fatigue, increased perspiration and salivation, dizziness, breathing difficulty and respiratory failure if not given emergency treatment.

Out water is a clear liquid poison because so many chemicals are added “to improve” our water, but these chemicals just destroy it. 4500 gallons will be drunk in a 70-year lifespan and those gallons will contain 200-300 pounds of rock. Most of this rock will vacate the body through the excretory system, but some will abide in the body causing arthritis, hardened arteries, kidney stones, gall stones and blocked arteries, microscopic capillaries and other liquid passages. George H. Malkmus wrote:

One of the contributing factors to hardened and blocked arteries is the calcium carbonate in drinking water. This inorganic mineral is the same substance that coats the inside of a pan after water has evaporated. The calcium from your drinking water is also a major ingredient in glue and cement. It is also what forms a stalactite inside a cave…one drop at a time, just as it forms inside your veins.

Many chemicals in our water can cause cancer, central nervous disorders and reproductive problems. Polychlorinated biphenyls and chloroform, chemicals used as solvents in our water, cause cancer. To destroy bacteria in water, alum, carbon, chlorine, fluorine, lime, phosphates, soda ash and sodium aluminates are added, but are known to cause cancer. Dr. Malkmus writes:

More than 700 chemicals have been found in our drinking water, and 129 of these chemicals have been cited by the EPA as posing serious health risks. Yet the EPA requires that our water supplies be tested for only 14 of these chemicals.

Two of these chemicals are especially dangerous: chlorine and fluoride.

Chlorine is a greenish-yellow poisonous gas used to kill bacteria in our water. However, chlorine may destroy helpful bacteria in the intestinal tract, cause heart disease, senility, bladder cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, urinary tract cancer and it may restrain the immune system. Chlorine was originally used as a weapon of poisonous gas during World War II. Dr. Herbert Schwartz declares:

Chlorine is so dangerous it should be banned.

The label on a shipment of fluoride states:

Warning: Corrosive liquid…the vapor or liquid material is very dangerous when it comes in contact with the eyes, skin or any part of the body, or if taken internally. When in contact with the skin, it can cause painful and slow-healing burns. Exposure to more than 50 part fumes per million of air is known to be fatal in 30-60 minutes. You are dealing with a substance so corrosive that it will eat through a quarter inch steel plate in a few minutes.

Can you believe that this very same substance is in our water? Fluoride, when mixed with sodium, is used as a roach and rat killer and pesticide. Sodium fluoride is the active ingredient in most toothpastes! The lack of fluoride does NOT cause tooth decay, poor nutrition does. In 1939, an industry using aluminum pot lines hired a biochemist to find a use for their sodium fluoride wastes. The government was persuaded by the industry’s suggestion of place their fluoride wastes in the water. The public was just told that the fluoride would prevent tooth decay.

The leakage of chemicals from factories is also a factor in our water contamination. Four out of five hazardous waste sites in 1987 were seeping harmful toxins into the ground water. In 1991, pesticides infiltrated half of the water passages in America’s Corn Belt. Excessive amounts of nitrate, a radioactive gas, were discovered in one-quarter of all private wells in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. Nitrate was known to cause cancer in lab animals and it killed an infant in South Dakota because of a formula made with nitrate-filled water. Radon, a radioactive gas, may be found in water and, when ingested, doubles the risk of soft tissue cancers.

Today’s white bread has no nutritional value, but contains preservatives and chemicals that can be detrimental to the human body. To maintain softness in white bread, mono- and diglycerides are added even though they can amplify the level of saturated fat. Potassium bromate is a dough conditioner that causes kidney problems and nervous system disorders. The chemical yeast nutrients of calcium and ammonium sulfate are contained in the bread. Calcium is used in wall plaster and ammonium sulfate is used in fireproofing fabrics. Code of Federal Regulations restricts the listing of the 100 or more food and chemical additives. How is bread manufactured in today’s society? Dr. Malkmus explains:

The miller takes the living grain of wheat and removes the outer shell called the bran (fiber) and it is either thrown away or sold in a health food store. Then he removes the germ (which contains all the nutrients) because it gums up his machinery. The germ is also often sold in health food stores. Then he takes what is left, which is called the endosperm, and grinds it into fine powder. But this powder is not pure white, so he bleaches it, often with a bleaching agent similar to Clorox. Now the flour is ready for the rest of the ingredients and baking…but it contains zero fiber and zero nutrition! Knowing the public will not buy a product that does not have at least some nutritive values posted on its wrapper, the bread maker puts into this dead, fiberless, nutritionally-void substance, some artificial, coal-tar derived, vitamins and minerals which have been known to cause cancer. Now he can label it “enriched” and pass it on to the unsuspecting public as something that is supposed to be good food.

Dark breads such as whole wheat, rye, oatmeal and pumpernickel have very diminutive or no grains at all. Dark breads are no healthier than white breads. They are just white breads dyed with molasses. Do not be fooled when you see the ingredient, wheat flour, on the nutrition label. It is low in nutrients and is abundant in chemicals just like bleached white flour. People with celiac disease, a chronic disorder in the abdomen, may worsen their health after eating dark breads. Whole grain breads contain preservatives that deplete the natural B vitamins and contain caramel color which is suspected to cause cancer.

Yeast can be contained in breads, pastries, other baked goods, meats and cheeses. A yeast is a “single-celled organism that can multiply at extremely rapid rates, doubling its number in two hours.”

Yeast is a member of the vegetable kingdom and too much yeast should be avoided because of its psychological and physical side effects on the body. Immense quantities of sugar, birth control pills, pregnancy, hormonal changes and antibiotics stimulate yeast amplification. The immune system is weakened when yeast grows because it releases toxins, invading deep tissue and multiplying germs. This causes nose, throat, sinus, ear, bronchial, bladder and other infections. Health problems that can result from large amounts of yeast present in the body are:

  • fatigue
  • irritability
  • digestive disorders
  • muscle pain
  • short attention span
  • headache
  • memory loss
  • vaginitis
  • skin problems
  • impotence
  • depression
  • menstrual problems
  • respiratory issues
  • learning difficulties
  • premenstrual syndrome
  • hyperactivity
  • hypoglycemia
  • urinary disorders

Aluminum is a metal that exists in foods, medicine and hygienical products. It can be found in:

  • baking powders
  • pickles
  • relishes
  • beer
  • cream of tarter
  • bleached flour
  • table salt
  • parmesan and grated cheese
  • antiperspirants
  • canned goods
  • water (to eliminate murkiness)
  • infant formula
  • antacids
  • foil
  • deodorants
  • cake mixes
  • toothpaste
  • cosmetics
  • frozen foods
  • antacids
  • hand lotions
  • makeup

Aluminum gives the cheese in the cheeseburger its melting attribute, thus making the cheeseburger the food product having the greatest aluminum content. Natural Healing, the May/June 1993 issue stated:

Canned drinks, including non-carbonated ones, can also be a significant source of aluminum, which…may cause degenerative damage to the brain. The acidic beverages dissolve aluminum during storage. The EPA Secondary Maximum Contaminant level of aluminum for water: 50 ppb. Coca-Cola Classic soda in aluminum can: 6.160 ppb.

When ingested, aluminum is deposited in the brain and nervous system and then some is discharged by the kidneys. Three to ten milligrams of aluminum are consumed by the average person per day. Aluminum pots, pans and cooking utensils must not be used because when you scrape food out of an aluminum pan, you will also be scraping aluminum from the inside of the pan into your food. The food cooked in that aluminum pan will generate a chloride toxin, neutralize digestive juices and create ulcers and acidosis. Aluminum toxicity may cause:

  • colic
  • rickets
  • gasto disturbances
  • poor calcium metabolism
  • nervousness
  • anemia
  • headache
  • decreased liver and kidney function
  • forgetfulness
  • memory loss
  • speech disturbances
  • weak, achy muscles
  • softening of the bones

Aluminum has been associated with an illness that affects four million Americans, is the fourth principal cause of death among the elderly and results in a decrement of reasoning, memory and language. It is Alzheimer’s Disease. When autopsies are performed on deceased Alzheimer patients, four times the normal amount of aluminum is found in the brain. Yet, aluminum is an additive approved by the FDA.

One particular dairy product a person should avoid is milk because it may cause:

Still, milk is accentuated as being a wonderful and beneficial source of calcium. When you watch television, you become overwhelmed by the milk commercials and when you read a magazine you see milk ads featuring celebrities with milk mustaches. The popular phrase, “got milk?” is on billboards and t-shirts. So, a person assumed that milk “does a body good”. Right? Wrong! 800-1200 milligrams of calcium are required daily for adults and growing children. Three 8 ounce glasses of milk with provide you with 776 milligrams of calcium. However, you will also consume 360 milligrams of sodium, 33 milligrams of cholesterol, 15 grams of saturated fat and 577 calories. Skim milk may have less fat and calories, but still does not do a body good.

Osteoporosis is a major problem among women, especially American. From recent studies, countries with the greatest protein and calcium rate have the greatest osteoporosis rate. A high protein diet and calcium intake is the cause of osteoporosis and milk is especially rich in protein. A high protein diet causes calcium (an alkaline mineral) to be removed from our bones because the body needs to balance its pH, a symbol that expresses the alkalinity or acidity in bodily secretions. Dr. Neal Barnard explains:

When volunteers eat a high protein meal, they lose calcium in their urine. If they consume modest amounts of protein, they lose much less calcium in their urine.

Milk is the cause of osteoporosis, not the prevention or cure! Eskimos have an extremely high protein and calcium intake and yet they have one of the worst osteoporosis problems in the world. The Bantus of South Africa receive smaller amount of protein from leafy green vegetables and intake half the amount of calcium American women consume. What is the result? They have no osteoporosis even though they each bear at least six children and breastfeed all of them right from birth!

Even though milk seems pure to the human eye, it is actually contaminated with FDA-approved ingredients. Here is a list of different hormones and chemicals that you probably pour into your glass at least three times a day:

That’s not all! A synthetic growth hormone called rBGH (Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone) was approved by the FDA and the American Medical Association on November 5, 1993. This hormone was distributed to farmers on February 3, 1994 by Monsanto Agricultural Company of St. Louis, Missouri. The hormone increases milk production by 20%. This is certainly beneficial to money-hungry corporations. However, this hormone increases the risk of mastitis, an infection of the udder. To treat the infection, farmers use antibiotics (which contain yeast that is dangerous as we discussed earlier). Most of these antibiotics that treat the infected cows are not even approved by the FDA. This hormone also increases somatic cell counts in the cow or, in other words, cow pus. Because of this hormone, you be drinking traces of mastitis, unapproved antibiotics and cow pus. The United States Department of Agriculture permits one to one and a half million white blood cells (cow pus) per milliliter. The dictionary definition of “pus” is:

a yellow white, more or less viscid substance produced by suppuration and found in abscesses, sores, etc., consisting of a liquid plasma in which leukocytes are suspended.

The ingredient, IGF (Insulin-like Growth Factor), mentioned in the previous list, encourages the growth of breast cancer cells and may cause rectal tumors. There is even cow’s blood in your milk, but there are limits of how much blood is allowed in cow’s milk. Casein is:

a conjugated protein present in milk and containing phosphorus, used in making plastics, synthetic fibers and various paints. Cheese is mostly casein.

The substance is also used in adhesive glues used to glue wood together. Casein is present in breast milk, but is 300% more in cow’s milk! Try to visualize a glass of milk as a glass of Elmer’s glue. Not very appetizing, is it?

Envision a farm. You probably picture healthy cows grazing on the green grass under a clear blue sky. Unfortunately, this vision is only in storybooks. Robert Cohen, author of “Milk: The Deadly Poison”, explains:

This past summer I took my family to visit a real working farm. As we approached our objective, we searched the fields for cows which to “moo” to from out of our windows. There were no cows to be seen. We saw the dairy barns. When we reached our destination and finally made our way into a dairy barn, we witnessed nothing like the tranquil setting described in a children’s book. The “barn” seemed more like a factory warehouse than a barn, having a concrete slab floor with enormous quantities of bovine excrement and flies. This stuff didn’t smell like hay! It was more like, hey, what the heck is that stench? The stalls did not appear to be very comfortable. Cows weren’t eating grass. Thich galvanized steel bars formed the stalls which separated each animal. They were chained in a manner that made sitting, grazing, walking and turning impossible. This wasn’t a happy place like the farm in “Green Grass and White Milk”.

Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy is the scientific term for Mad Cow Disease which may be contained in your milk. This ailment was the result of Great Britain feeding their cows contaminated protein which included blood, brains and bones from dead animals (mostly sheep) even though cows are not carnivorous. Thus, in 1990, Mad Cow Disease originated and spread across the country. Cows suffered convulsions, twitching and loss of the muscles. Cattle, as a result of the disease, became crazy or seemed to go insane. In May 1990, 25% of the British refused to eat beef or drink milk even though their government denied the fact that people could contract Mad Cow Disease by eating beef. Tim Lang, a Thames University Professor of Food Policy, stated:

We are in a mass experiment which is killing us. Never before have diseased ruminants (sheep) been fed to other ruminants (cows) and then fed to humans. We have interfered with the whole process of nature and what is now happening is one of our worst nightmares…This is tragedy on a massive scale. The government has been so totally stupid.

Dr. Virgil Hulse, author of “Mad Cows and Milk Gate”, commented:

The case of the mad cow has not been exaggerated in the press, in fact, in many case, the situation is much worse than what has been told. Cows are being fed diseased sheep, chickens and other cows. These cows are then slaughtered, wrapped in plastic, priced and put out in your local grocery store as harmless for human consumption. Of these cows, 80% have the bovine leukemia virus and 50% have the bovine immunodeficiency virus – the animal equivalent of AIDS. We are drinking milk and eating cheese with lymphocyte that are loaded with the proviral DNA of these viruses. It is only common sense that when consuming a fluid that has been emitted from an animal, or the actual flesh itself, we the consumers, are at risk for whatever ailed the animal.

Dr. Hulse also writes:

Despite increasing anecdotal (circumstantial) evidence linking bovine leukemia virus and bovine immunodeficiency virus to potential human health risks, the USDA has steadfastly refused to check slaughtered meat, milk and dairy products to see if they contain antibodies to these retroviruses. It seems that they just do not want to scare the milk consumer. Every day, Americans consume beef and dairy products from cows, some of which are infected with bovine leukemia virus and cow AIDS virus, without any assurance that the products are safe.

Is Mad Cow Disease present in the United States? Evidence seems to lead to yes. Howard Lyman, an ex-cattleman and rancher, stated on the Oprah Winfrey show:

Every year 100,000 U.S. cows appear healthy at night and are found dead in the morning.

Cruetzfeld-Jacob Disease, the human disease linked to Mad Cow Disease, may cause Alzheimer’s Diseases. A study revealed 6% of deceased Alzheimer patients had Cruetzfeld-Jacob Disease. Downer Cow Syndrome is also present in the United States and causes the cows to lose coordination, collapse and die. This syndrome is closely related to Mad Cow Disease. What do the farmers do to infected dead cows? Howard Lyman replies:

When a farmer has a dead cow he has two choices. He can call the veterinarian who will come out and say, ‘Hey, Jack, you got a dead cow. You owe me $150.’ or the farmer can call the renderer who will come out and say, ‘Hey, Jack, you got a dead cow. I can take it off your hands.” Which is he going to choose? The renderer makes cows into feed, which is then fed back to cows or other animals. In this way one cow with Mad Cow Disease could infect thousands.

Many people suspect Mad Cow Disease rather than Downer Cow Syndrome is killing American cows and causing Cruetzfeld-Jacob Disease. The controversy concerning the prospect of Mad Cow Disease present in America has caused many state assemblies to pass anti-food slander laws or Agricultural Disparagement Acts. These acts consider criticizing an agricultural product to be criminal. Whatever happened to free speech? Robert Cohen explains:

Alabama is one state that has passed a Food Slander Law. At the risk of placing myself in jeopardy, I am about to reveal a government secret and, furthermore, disparage an agricultural product. There is a farm in Vinemont, Alabama on which 17 beef cattle are currently quarantined by the United States Department of Agriculture. The farmer has asked me not to print his name and I will respect his request. He is seeking $25,000 per animal from the United States government, about $24,000 more per animal then they are worth as beef. Can you guess what ‘Old MacDonald’s’ real reason is? I imagine that our meat industry will “collapse” when America’s carefully guarded secret reveals that we do indeed have Mad Cow Disease. The cow in Canada that was destroyed along with 270 animals came from a herd of Charolais beef cattle in England. Seventeen of those animals from the same English herd were purchased by this farmer in Alabama and have been put under quarantine.

Please take serious caution when drinking a cold glass of osteoporosis-inducing, insecticide-, pesticide-, and bacterial-infiltrated, antibiotic-treated, cow pus-and blood-contained, Mad Cow Disease-contaminated liquid protein. In other words – a cold glass of milk!

After reading about what the typical American diet consists of, you are probably wondering what you should eat. After all, three of the four food groups are toxic to your body. The fruits/vegetables group provides the body with the appropriate nutrients it needs to live a healthy life. Leafy green vegetables, peas, beans, potatoes and cauliflower are excellent sources of calcium and can be a substitute for any milk product. Spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, peas, green beans, cucumbers, celery, potatoes, honeydew, cantaloupe, oranges and bananas are good sources of protein. Most fruits and root vegetables such as carrots, onions and potatoes contain some sugar that body does need. Fruits and vegetables in your local grocery store probably have been sprayed with pesticides and insecticides, so they should not be eaten if at all possible. However, you can purchase a fruit and vegetable cleaner in health food stores and this will thoroughly clean your produce. Of you can purchase organic fruits and vegetables. Distilled water should be used when washing fruits and vegetables. Eating raw vegetables is the optimum choice because when vegetables are cooked, nutrients are depleted. The microwave also depletes beneficial nutrients. God did not supply Adam and Eve with pots, microwaves and a stove to heat vegetables.

Although a vegetarian diet is the best way, many people cannot eat just fruits and vegetables for specific medical reasons. Met should not be bought at your local grocery store, but at an organic farm or a health food store. This organic meat is free of growth hormones and other chemicals. You can also purchase organic milk which has no antibiotics, pus, growth hormones, viruses, bacteria or insecticides. Alternatives to cow’s milk include: rice milk, oat milk, goat’s milk, almond and other nut milks. For those of you who enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee, add Stevia to your beverage instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners. Stevia is from the green plant of the same name and is a complex carbohydrate so it will not affect your sugar level. Since white past has no nutrients and will turn to sugar in your body, eat whole grain pasta. make sure whole grain breads contain natural ingredients and not artificial ingredients. Whole grain pasta and bread will provide you with good amounts of fiber. If you decide to alter your eating habits by becoming a vegetarian or by only eating organic foods, you will be more alert, more active and feel a lot healthier.

A distiller should be present in every kitchen around the world. This will eliminated elements in your water that you never knew were there. Bottled water and mineral water cannot always be trusted even though the label may claim it is pure. Store the distilled water in glass containers because plastic is capable of holding germs. Clean the distiller every few days because a sticky substance will start to accumulate on the inside of the distiller. This is the toxins from your tap water. The distilled water will eventually “flush” the harmful chemicals out of your veins and arteries.

Many of the foods we eat today have devastating effects on our bodies. Sugar is an addictive substance that poisons our bodies by promoting many health problems like cancer. Eliminating sugar from your diet will drastically decrease your chance of cancer. Animal products such as beef and fish cause serious health problems like heart attacks and cancer. God provided man with fruit and vegetables in the Garden of Eden, not beef and fish. Water contains industrial chemicals as well as chlorine and fluoride, two of the most dangerous chemicals. These chemicals are supposedly there to “improve” our water, but they only promote health problems. Bread, white or dark, has no nutritional value, but contains preservatives and chemicals that negatively affect the body. The yeast contained in the bread causes infections and vaginitis. Aluminum is present in many household and food products, yet can cause colic and rickets. Aluminum has also been linked to Alzheimer’s Disease because Alzheimer patients have four times the normal amount of aluminum in their brain. Mounting evidence concludes that milk is the cause of osteoporosis and many health problems such as leukemia and multiple sclerosis. We may be drinking milk contaminated with Mad Cow Disease, Downer Cow Syndrome, unapproved antibiotics and mastitis. A vegetarian diet or one with only organic meats is the best path to take if you want to live a healthier life. These diets will provide you with the nutrients and minerals your body requires. Eliminating the typical American diet and living on God’s diet will cause you to enjoy your life and live it to the fullest!

Happily, I did get an A grade on the report. It was a monumental assignment and even though getting an A grade on the paper and graduating from high school were the two things I most wanted, I realized, today after 25 years, I can be proud of myself and this was the beginning of a passion, a passion I want to share with people in hopes they can read and understand truth and be their own advocate for optimal health.
